INSTALL, FCICA Opens Enrollment for Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program Scholarship

INSTALL, in support of FCICA, has launched the 2017 INSTALL Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program Scholarship and is now accepting applications.

The program was developed to support installation managers’ continued training and professional development. Now in its third year, the $1,225 scholarship provides the opportunity for one floorcovering professional to enroll in and successfully complete the CIM training.

Enrollment opens on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 and the submission deadline is Friday, December 15, 2017. Click here to submit your application. The winner will be announced in late December.

“INSTALL strives to produce some of the best floorcovering professionals,” said Tom Lutz, Michigan director of INSTALL. “The CIM Program helps ensure professional training is brought to managers, making companies better and more efficient.”

John Kasper, a dispatcher of 15 installers who is employed by INSTALL Warranty Contractor Groome Floor Coverings Inc., was the winner of the CIM Scholarship last year. He emphasized how the program is helping him to better meet project management needs of the journeymen as well as the company as a whole.

“The CIM Program brings structured manager training to one place. In order to elevate the industry, we must not only have well-trained installers, but also well-trained managers,” Lutz added.

Submissions will be judged by the following criteria:

  • Applicant’s employers must be an INSTALL contractor
  • FCICA membership status and INSTALL certifications held by the applicant
  • Reason for requesting the training

Judges for the scholarship program include John McGrath, Director of INSTALL, Tom Lutz, INSTALL Michigan and Kelly Fuller, FCICA Director of Education.
